Tell EPA Administrator Zeldin: Do not repeal the Endangerment Finding
This week the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) threatened to repeal the Endangerment Finding – a 2009 determination that establishes the scientific truth that greenhouse gas emissions released by fossil fuels cause harm.
This policy is the bedrock for federal rulemaking on climate action, and its repeal would limit the EPA’s ability to protect the public. This is a shocking and reckless aboutface from the very agency founded with the mission “to protect human health and the environment.” For the first time ever, the head of the EPA is Jewish – the grandson and great-grandson of rabbis – and he takes his faith seriously enough that he conducted an elaborate public ceremony to affix a mezuza to the EPA office.
But, Mr. Zeldin is acting in ways completely antithetical to thefundamentalJewish value of protecting life and pikuach nefesh, the primacy of saving a life. With this move to repeal the Endangerment Finding, he is turning his back not just on this foundational Jewish value, but also on honoring truth and recognizing science.
Send a message directly to Mr. Zeldin today telling him you stand against the repeal of the Endangerment Finding and that climate destruction is not a Jewish value.
