Spiritual Adaptation Program brings song, strategy, and radical imagination to CCAR conference

In March, Dayenu brought our song, strategy, and Spiritual Adaptation framework to over 200 Reform rabbis at the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) in Philadelphia.

It was the largest Spiritual Adaptation workshop Dayenu has ever run – and our first dedicated to spiritually resourcing clergy for climate leadership.

About Spiritual Adaptation workshops

Cultivating Spiritual Courage To Confront The Climate Crisis draws on Jewish teachings, stories, and music, connecting participants to Jewish wisdom, history, and each other as they take in the overwhelming and existential threat, cultivate a sense of hope, and move into courageous action.

We have offered the workshop to dozens of diverse Jewish communities, from a cadre of Millennial Jewish climate activists to synagogues, from Hillels and Moishe Houses to a Jews of Color Collective. Beyond the intensive workshop, we are developing new, shorter Spiritual Adaptation experiences that can become paired with Dayenu’s climate organizing trainings and shared at conferences and public programs – introducing a broader audience to this meaningful work.

Thanks to Rabbi Laura Bellows for her wisdom and leadership; to Rabbi Jennie Rosenn for her vision and strategy; and to Dayenu Rabbinic Fellow Chloe Zelkha for her musical genius.
