David Turnbull is Interim Director of the CommsHub, a new philanthropic effort aimed at supercharging the climate movement’s strategic communications across the globe. He was previously Director of the Field Intelligence on Strategic Communications (FISC) initiative, a collaborative with a similar goal of increasing the scale and effectiveness of resourcing for strategic communications efforts in the climate movement. Prior to FISC, David spent a decade at Oil Change International, where he directed campaigns and strategic communications aimed at ending new fossil fuel investments and eroding the social license of the oil and gas industry. Earlier, David was Executive Director of Climate Action Network – International, the world’s largest network of civil society organizations collaborating on joint advocacy, campaigns, and capacity building in support of climate action. In addition to Dayenu’s Advisory Board, David currently serves as Treasure of the Boards of  the Breach Collective, and he was previously a member of the Board of Directors for the US Climate Action Network and for SustainUS. Based in Portland, Oregon, he draws inspiration from his wife and two children, driving his fight for a safer climate every day.
