Last week, on Purim, I delivered our petition about the importance of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Together with partners, we gathered thousands of signatures from Americans who know what a vital role the agency plays in protecting our air, water, and communities.
Needless to say, this is a precarious moment for our country, as the Trump Administration takes a sledgehammer to both institutions and norms. We are watching in horror as the first Jewish EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, slashes landmark rulings and regulations, purges scientists, and closes environmental justice programs.
Check out my recent op-ed in eJewish Philanthropy calling on the Jewish community to make clear that Zeldin’s actions are antithetical to our values. Please consider sharing this piece on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, X/Twitter).
While it’s a frustrating and scary time for those of us who care deeply about our climate – and our future on this planet – it’s also a time when we must not back down, or flag in our commitment to uphold our values and fight for what’s right.
We must continue to raise our voices and demand progress on the environment for us, and for generations to come.
