Climate, Jobs, and Justice center stage at NY Jewish Climate Summit in April

On April 7, 2024, a powerful group of Jewish climate activists gathered in Manhattan for the 2024 NY Jewish Climate Summit, hosted by Dayenu, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, Adamah NY, and Central Synagogue.

Together, we learned, sang, and called on New York Governor Hochul and Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie to include the NY HEAT Act and the Climate Change Superfund Act in the New York State Budget. This was another step in the effort to advocate for the Climate, Jobs, and Justice package during this session, which centers climate justice and overburdened communities. Dayenu has been participating in the NY Renews coalition, along with JCAN NY and many community organizations.

The summit had several workshops, along with plenary sessions with Bloc Power CEO Donnel Baird and climate comedian and Dayenu Advisory Board Member Josh Burstein.

We were also happy to welcome electeds NYC Council Member Julie Menin; NYC Council Member Eric Dinowitz; and Manhattan Borough President Mark D. Levine.
