Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is hiring a Director of Organizing to lead our talented, dynamic organizing team and help build a spiritually rooted Jewish climate movement.

The Director of Organizing will be responsible for overseeing Dayenu’s organizing program to build a multi-generational, multi-racial, multi-ethnic people-powered movement of diverse Jews to advance Dayenu’s climate justice mission.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership (40%)

• Lead and support five-person Dayenu Organizing Team to achieve individual and team goals, prioritizing equity and inclusion and promoting professional growth and development
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new staff as needed
• Manage departmental budget, annual goal-setting, and performance evaluations
• Maintain and build strong team systems and culture.

Campaigns, Actions, and Organizing (30%)

• Oversee the growth of Dayenu’s base and develop Dayenu Circles across the country
• Lead and contribute to direct organizing and relationship-building with new and longtime Jewish climate leaders, including growing our Young People organizing and state-based organizing
• Help lead and manage Dayenu’s campaigns, including strategy development, public actions, digital advocacy, in-person canvassing, and GOTV efforts
• Build and navigate relationships with existing Jewish, multi-faith, and secular organizations and movements, including frontline communities and activists in the climate justice and broader progressive movements
• Oversee and guide support to volunteer leaders through regular trainings, coaching, regional gatherings, workshops, and community building

Strategy and Organizational Leadership (30%)

• Develop and implement organizing strategy to grow Dayenu’s base, including experimenting and iterating new organizing tactics, including the use of digital organizing tools, and empowering volunteer leaders
• As part of senior team, contribute to overall organizational strategy-setting, decision-making, prioritization, and learning
• Collaborate across teams to support Dayenu’s campaigns, partnerships, communication, and spiritual adaptation work
• Promote a culture of integrity, equity, excellence, and effective collaboration 

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years demonstrated success in field organizing 
• At least 5  years experience managing organizers and strong supervisory abilities 
• Experience working on the climate crisis very strongly preferred
• Experience designing and/or managing successful chapter-based organizing programs
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills 
• Excellent listening skills, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate across lines of difference, and a commitment to anti-racist and feminist practice
• Experience using digital organizing tools such as AirTable, EveryAction, ControlShift, and others
• Experience organizing on an electoral or ballot campaign a plus
• Knowledge of and experience working in/with the Jewish community a plus

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
